Rwahi- Rwentobo Town Council Launches Sanitation Campaign

Rwentobo town council in Ntungamo district has today launched a sanitation campaign aimed at improving the state of Sanitation in the area.


The campaign will  run every first Thursday of the month and will always require locals in the area to spare atleast three hours to clean the town council.

 

Speaking at the launch held at Rwentobo the area local council three chairperson Nicholas Asiimwe Mwamba revealed that the town council has been grappling with the challenge of poor sanitation which he says requires collective responsibility.

 

Naboth Niwagaba the town clerk Rwahi-Rwentobo town council revealed that the decision was taken by the top leadership of the town council to ensure that people live in a conducive environment.

He revealed that the locals should embrace the need to have the areas with in which they operate are clean and habitable.

 

Aisha Musheki a local resident revealed that the campaign is a good initiative since it brings together all locals for a genuine cause.

The exercise saw dozens of people turning up to participate in the cleaning of the town council by picking garbage, opening the drainage channels and clearing the bushes.
